Unlike in the past, these days people that tend to look for careers in advertising have the possibility of majoring in marketing in college. It is known that marketing is a major different from the old and traditional education model. If we are talking about the traditional model than it is clear that the whole point of the education is that the certain individual to become a better citizen.

A wide range of fields will help the individual to gain expertise and knowledge in many ways (examples: art, literature, society, general work). The wide ranges of fields would be taken in classes with the purpose of a good and ethical growth of the individual, as well as an educated member of society. When it comes to careers in advertising, the draw for marketing majors is from all the fields of human knowledge, from psychology, statistics and literature to art, economics history and many others as well.

The idea of the drawn human knowledge fields is the development of a narrow set of career skills, unlike the case of traditional approach to education. If we take psychology for example, we see that first of all you learn the basics of psychology and afterwards you only get the information you need regarding the subject, in this case, how psychology is applied to convince people that they need what you are selling (random example). Insuring you an education of sorts the broad knowledge prepares the individual to experience life in the professional world, which is a very important fact.
